Abu Dhabi Ranked World’s Safest City for Solo Travellers, Reinforcing Its Global Appeal

Abu dhabi

Abu Dhabi has once again strengthened its reputation as a world-class destination after being named the safest city globally for solo travellers, according to recent international safety rankings. The recognition places the UAE capital ahead of major global cities such as Taipei and Doha, underscoring its growing attractiveness not only for tourists, but also for businesses, investors, and expatriates.

The ranking, published by CEOWORLD magazine, assessed over 300 global cities based on key safety indicators, including crime statistics, law enforcement effectiveness, political stability, and infrastructure security. Abu Dhabi recorded an exceptional safety score of 97.73 out of 100, positioning it at the top of the list for 2025.

Strong Governance and Smart Security

Abu Dhabi’s top position reflects years of sustained investment in public safety and urban governance. The emirate benefits from robust law enforcement, advanced AI-driven surveillance systems, and proactive community policing initiatives, such as the Civil Defence Safety Patrol. These measures contribute to consistently low crime rates across residential and commercial areas.

Beyond crime prevention, the city’s safety framework is supported by political stability, clear regulatory systems, and efficient emergency response mechanisms factors that are increasingly critical for global travellers and multinational businesses alike.

A Safe Environment for People and Capital

The recognition has broader implications beyond tourism. Safety is a key determinant for foreign direct investment, talent mobility, and long-term residency decisions. Abu Dhabi’s ability to provide a secure, family-friendly environment enhances its appeal as a regional headquarters for global corporations and a preferred destination for professionals relocating to the Middle East.

The city’s modern infrastructure, well-planned urban spaces, and emphasis on quality of life have helped create an ecosystem where residents, entrepreneurs, and visitors can operate with confidence and peace of mind.

Outperforming Global Peers

In the latest rankings, Abu Dhabi outperformed cities such as Taipei and Doha, both of which are also recognised for high safety standards. The consistent performance of the UAE capital across multiple global indices highlights the effectiveness of its long-term governance strategy and its commitment to international best practices in urban safety.

Enhancing Global Competitiveness

As countries and cities compete to attract global talent, investors, and tourists, safety has become a decisive factor. Abu Dhabi’s latest recognition reinforces its position as a stable, secure, and future-ready global city, aligned with the UAE’s broader economic diversification and growth agenda.

With safety, infrastructure, and quality of life working in tandem, Abu Dhabi continues to strengthen its standing as one of the most reliable destinations for living, travelling, and doing business in an increasingly uncertain global environment.
